Ladies, what do you do to protect your bed from shark week?

  1. I have blood red fitted sheet. I’ve never actually bled onto my sheets or bed but just in case…blood red sheets.

  2. I wear a cup and it’s never leaked so not a big concern for me. Waterproof mattress pad is always on though, just in case.

  3. I dont watch the discovery channel? I really have no interest in tv shows and documentaries about sharks.

  4. I wear a giant diaper pad. I don’t actually bleed at all at night. The moment I stand up to go to the bathroom it’s like Splash Mountain

  5. Wear a giant overnight pad that’s basically a diaper, and sometimes I sleep on a towel, if my flow is particularly heavy. Had to do that a lot as a teen.

  6. I like the new bonds period underwear! They work for me mind you I do not have heavy periods

  7. Extra long pad amd pants. I also have oxy clean and soak my sheets for a couple of hours before washing them if there’s a leak.

  8. I wear those thick ass fat overnight pads that you can damn near pee in and it doesn’t go through my pants or anything. I only wear those at night cos they’re bulky AF.

  9. I use a heavy duty washable waterproof bed pad. Lasts forever, stains wash out.

It has a smooth cottony surface so it’s comfortable to sleep on unlike a terrycloth towel, plus it guarantees any leaks will not get through to the sheet below. The back is a bit grippy and it’s sturdy enough that it doesn’t shift or bunch up. It’s Perfect! I’ve been using the same one for nearly a decade and it’s still going strong.

  10. I wonder how my mom got these blood stains out of my bed when I was 12 because I’ve bled like crazy because of my PCOS..

I couldn’t even go to school camp because of that and in my country you’re required to go to school while not going to camp in those 3 days and I also couldn’t go to school, then the asshole principal threatened to call CPS on us..

  11. I don’t usually have much of an issue overnight, but I use an overnight pad just in case – and for when I first stand up in the morning 🤢

  12. I buy those huge Always size, like 7 extra long overnight pads. They come in a black box.

Then I wear tight leggings or shorts over to make sure it all stays put lol

I toss and turn and sleep in just about every position conceivable in any given night, so until huge mega overnight pads, leakage was a very real risk. So to avoid it in the past, I wore 2 pads to make one super long pad out of them, and added a tampon. Don’t really have to with the mega pads anymore.

  13. I like the Always Infinity overnight pads with wings, and I always get the biggest size (5?) so there’s plenty of room in the front and the back. They’re very thin, so they don’t bunch and rarely migrate. I sleep.on my side/stomach, so room at the front is more important than room at the back. That plus cotton briefs and sweatpants or shorts and I haven’t had a leak in forever.

But just in case, and because I live with a pets and a kid, a good waterproof mattress pad is indispensable.

  14. Okay so this is for the girls who move around like crazy while sleeping like I do. So at night I usually don’t like wearing tampons so I wear pads but since I move around so much I end up usually staining either my underwear or worst case the bed even. So I either wear those extra long overnight pads that feels like a diaper or if you don’t have those, that’s okay just take two normal sized pads and make an extra long pad. Works like a charm and I haven’t stained my bed or underwear for years now.

  15. Seems like everyone here has it locked down BUT I’m 26, have been menstruating for 16 years and unfortunately still have about one or two leaks a year 😅 which is bad because I’ve had gorgeous white bedding for the last two years!

For preventive measures, I wear both a super tampon and the largest maxi pad size available the first few nights.

Unfortunately I leaked heavily (right as I was waking up, too) during my last cycle. I immediately ran my sheets and comforter under cold water, which got most of the damage out, but was able to get the rest of my stain out with an OxiClean stain stick! (I did reapply the stick’s solution a few times over the course of a few hours that day before proceeding to wash the sheets)

  16. I thought that my sister was going to strangle me (she had murder in her eyes…) when I asked what the big deal was. “But, doesn’t your period just stop when you lie down? Mine always does. You know, like how it stops if you get in the bathtub.”

I now understand that I got very, very lucky with my periods. She explained this in great detail and a lot of profanity.
