☝️This. I hate this. What’s the point of even asking ‘how are you’ or ‘how’s it going’ when the social norm presents only one set answer in the form of “good”? There’s gotta be a better approach to small talk, especially when greeting someone.

And yet, this form of soulless, disingenuous banter is so deeply engraved into my being that I can’t seem to think of anything better to say.

I’d love to hear everyone’s suggestions on a better alternative that makes for a more engaging conversation. Perhaps a greeting or some form of small talk (if it even exists) that can still sound casual starting off but potentially opens the way for genuine convo?
