I [20F] find that when I am approaching climax (a few seconds right before) is where the pleasurable sensation is most heightened. However, upon actually reaching orgasm, I almost don’t feel anything? Apart from contractions and relaxation, the feeling of actual pleasure completely disappears as soon as the orgasm actually occurs. It just feels like releasing all the air out of a balloon and it’s quite unsatisfying.

Do any other female-bodied people have a similar or common experience? Whenever I read about other women’s experiences with orgasms, it’s sometimes described as much more “mind-blowing” than what I experience.

I am aware that people do experience sensations differently, so it’s a little redundant trying to compare my experiences to others, however I am a little worried that something might be “off” since the timing of the pleasurable part seems to happen prior to the actual orgasm.

  1. I’m unable to give myself “mind blowing” orgasms. The feeling I get is the feeling you describe. The only time I ever have what I’d say is a “mind blowing” orgasm (my body gets all tingly, muscles spasm, etc.) is when my boyfriend provides them to me.

  2. That’s perfectly normal, just before the actual orgasm your clit becomes ultra sensitive so sensations are hightened. The “mind-blowing” women describe is the rush of dopamine, the high your brain rides on for a few seconds. In any case, nothing if “off”.

However, you could try experimenting different things to get more intense contractions during your orgasm. I know that for me, an orgasm from direct clit stimulation without any edging won’t give me a very intense rush, however combined with g-spot stimulation, vaginal entrance stimulation, or anal stimulation, and I do get those “mind blowing” orgasms – they sometimes even feel like an electric shock and I get pins and needles during the contractions.

  3. Just an aside – saying “female bodied” isn’t really more inclusive than just saying female. If you’re trying to be more inclusive you could say “people with vaginas”

  4. Ok are you talking about mainly penetration orgasms or orgasms where youre rubbing you clit. For me the Penetration orgasms feel incredibly hallow and weak when using a toy that doesnt press hard prostate but feel amazing when a good amounr of pressure is applied.

Ik im not a female but male and female paets are the same just wired into different places.

  5. After the buildup, when the orgasm hits, I feel like I hit a wall. It’s a huge burst of a release with body contortions that last pretty long. Very much a bowl of jelly afterward.

  6. That is normal! In fact, if the sex continues after the orgasm, it feels uncomfortable if the D goes in fully. At least it does to me

  7. i think that’s pretty normal. sometimes you can kinda change it if you have REALLY intense fantasies i think, but not all women are the same.
