What exactly do I talk about on the phone?

Alright let’s waste no time and jump into it.

I’ve started dating this girl and I’m gonna be real, my lack of social skills is looking like it may end things before they even really start. As of late, she has been saying she thinks we’re incompatible and has been extremely upset at how dull our conversations are. She’s not uninterested I don’t think, she calls and texts very frequently but is always disappointed at the result. I think that she thinks I’m extremely uninterested.

The truth is that I have horrible social skills and am not used to talking for long periods of time. Usually when I call friends I just say what I wanted to call about and maybe catch up and then hang up. However this girl wants to stay on the phone for hours and I run out of shit to say in about 10 mins. I’ve already asked her everything I could about herself and always ask about her day but then she just throws the ball back in my court. I’ve been kinda depressed the last couple days because she’s beginning to rethink everything just because of how dry our phone calls are and how hard it seems to be to talk about stuff. I like her a lot and am very scared of it not working.

This isn’t limited to this girl either. I’d say a solid 90% girls I have began seeing ended up not working due to this exact reason. I just don’t know what people talk about or how they are able to stay on the phone so long or expect people to be able to do that. I need help on this soon or else I’m afraid this will begin to fall apart too. Tbh I just wish I could be normal and know what to say.
