Context: My partner (M31) and I (F24) are currently living in a small 1 bed flat working remotely in Europe. We’ve taken this first week off as a holiday – so, there are normal holiday-with-a-partner stresses at play at the moment.

But, I’d say I’m a pretty anxious/stressy person. I’m still gaining momentum in my career, I haven’t found all the friends I want to have, still struggle with certain social anxieties, handling conflict, etc.

I’ve been getting quite irate recently. And I feel bad because I’m taking it all out on my partner, but he is also being a little annoying. So, how do you compartmentalize these feelings?

How do you know what to put on your partner and what to keep a lid on? How can you tell when you’re just in an extra sensitive mood or if your annoyance is valid?

  1. Therapy is the best place to untangle feelings and learn good strategies to deal with different stresses.
