From a Guys POV it seems as if he doesn’t want to talk to you anymore but doesn’t know how to tell you straight up so he’s trying to let you down gently and slowly by being distant. He may actually have some personal problems I’m not saying he’s lying but if he wanted to keep talking to you he would is all I’d say. Ik it doesn’t sound nice but it’s just what it seems like

He’s not interested in you. It’s hard to see sometimes when we really liked the other person but he was polite about it so you should let him go just as politely.
