Mine is Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. Has anyone found books similar to this style?
A Thousand Splendid Suns is a great one (albeit sad).
I currently looooooove This is How You Lose the Time War.
The Fifth Season by NK Jemison. I didn’t even finish reading it before I ordered the next two books in the series.
“A Teaspoon Of Earth and Sea” by Dina Nayeri
It made me feel a rollercoaster of emotions.
A Torch Against The Night series by Saaba Tahir was truly amazing! The characters, the culture and scenes were so vibrant and there was such a strong female lead that wasn’t a perfect hero but a woman I look up to.
The Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett (written for children but still a great read for adults imo).
Also his other discworld books that have the adult witches as main characters such as Wyrd Sisters.
The Bees by Lalline Paul
Lots of Kate Atkinson’s books have female main characters- I particularly liked Life After Life.
Sayaka Muraka is one of my new favourite authors- Convience Store Woman is an interesting and odd (in a good way) little read. Earthlings was very good but some dark topics in it.
Sabriel by Garth Nix, Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey, Rose Madder and Firestarter by Stephen King
Hench by Natalie Zina Walschots
Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
Ahab’s Wife, or The Star Gazer. Naslund took a barely mentioned character from Moby Dick and built an entire world around her.
Almost anything by Shirley Jackson and Toni Morrison
Mindfck series, I mean a female serial killer? Count me in
When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey. It was a fantastic book about a group of best friends trying to cover up a murder of one of their classmates, all while trying to hide their magic and navigate life and senior year. 10/10 would recommend
A thousand Splendid Suns, It ends with us. Beautiful books with valiant women.
The seven husbands of evelyn hugo by TJR
