Saw this in r/askwomen but for women so be interested to know inverse.
It feels like a solid 5-10% of all comments on the internet are from women saying how annoying it is to be cold approached in public. Another 5-10% of all comments seem to be men giving advice that the only way to get dates is to cold approach people in public. How can we reconcile this?

You seem to have the answers, play sports with or just go drinking at a bar.
If only it were that easy right, maybe it is.
Stand near an extrovert and hope they adopt you.
Talk to people about interests, if you wanna be friends with them, be friends if not repeat until desired numbers of friends show up

Go back 30 years. Get 6 actors, put them in “wacky” situations, give them a maroon couch on which they discuss said situations. Repeat for 8 seasons.
I started playing warhammer 40k and went to a local club to play other people.
Pursue your hobbies. Find groups to join. Sports there is rec league sports just for this.
Take up Boxing/Judo/BJJ/Muay Thai etc. Go to the bar with your sparring partners after practice.
