Gay guy here, throw away account for obvious reasons.

I had a wild night a couple of nights ago, a one night stand. We used a condom except for when we engaged in oral. Lube was also in the equation. I guess I should add that I only received a blowjob.

Now, my penis slightly itches. I don’t have any visible sores yet or anything and I will go get tested in a week or so. But I’m freaking out that I have an STI. Whats the chance I’m just having a bad reaction to the lube 4 days later? If HSV, would I be itching before any type of visible sore?

I know, I know.. just wait and get tested. But my mental health would appreciate any advice/information.

Why wait for a week? Most STIs are treatable, the sooner the better. Go today.

    Not likely.

Reaction to lube depends on the lube – water-based lube is essentially just that: water. Fairly safe. Other stuff like silicone you can be allergic to, but contact allergy is a matter of minutes to hours, not days. Days sounds like a typical incubation period of some germ (but I’m not a doctor).

Don’t know about genitals, but on the mouth herpes: totally. It’s just an increasingly funny feeling for half a day or so before the first visible symptoms appear. Then about another day before the bubbles burst. After that it’s a lot of fun, because the infection smears all over the place from the bubble liquid.

Go now and see a doctor.
