When did listening to your gut save you I’m some way?

  1. Every time I’ve listened to my gut it’s saved me from either getting assaulted, followed, or in an accident. Ladies, listen to your gut!! Always!! Those instincts are there for a reason.

  2. i was on a date with this guy. just for a walk in the park. we had a smoke break under a bridge when it started raining. we sat on the ground and he proceeded to tickle me for some reason. i didn’t really mind and it turned into us kissing.

until he choked me against the wall of that bridge. i froze and was completely terrified. this stranger was being so rough and despite me not responding in any way, he kept increasing pressure and said he’d take me home now to do… more.

my gut told me to play along. there was no one around at that park. so i walked with him to his place. and only right in front of his apartment building i started screaming bloody murder and started fighting him to get away. people started watching. i got home safely.

if i had tried to fight at the park, it’s very likely no one would’ve even noticed. i’m scared to think of what he might’ve done. especially after he had zero problems going straight for my throat.

  3. I was walking and van was following me on a dark deserted street. I quickly turned, pretended to take a picture and then ran opposite how they were driving. Van sped away.

  4. I was invited to a party last year. The day of the party I just had this feeling that I needed to stay home. I had a lot going on in my life so my friends weren’t upset that I decided to stay home. Everyone caught covid, one of our friends died. I’m immunocompromised and I care for my terminal mother. She likely would have died and I would have been hospitalized. I miss my friend so much.

In highschool a group of friends wanted to go out driving. Common thing to do here as we didn’t have much else to do. I was invited but declined. I just felt like I shouldn’t go. They hit a deer, all of them ended up in the hospital, one almost died.

I used to take the bus too and from work, got off of work early one day. We had completed a major project so the bosses let the whole team go home early. I just didn’t want to get on that early bus, it felt off. I asked a coworker to get a coffee with me instead. The bus was hit by a semi truck. No major injuries thankfully but I’m glad I avoided it.

My mother was having trouble breathing. She’s on a bipap 24/7 so she struggles to breathe as it is, but something felt off about this. She had called her doctor and they didn’t seem too concerned, chalked it up to her disease. They scheduled her an appointment for the following day to see if her machine just needed adjusting. Even my aunt was hesitant to take action. I went to visit her and saw her struggling, packed a bag and made her go to the ER. It was a pulmonary embolism. 6 days in the ICU. She would have been dead by her appointment time.

I always trust my gut feelings, I’ve had a lot of instances where my gut feeling has either saved me, someone I love, or avoided a bad situation all together.

  5. My gut said my bf was cheating me so I chummed the water when he was surfing. Turns out he wasn’t cheating, which is unfortunate because he lost his leg. I broke up with him when he got out of surgery for the shark bite and then in the waiting room I met the girl of my dreams.
