So me and girlfriend have been dating for 2 months and our prom just passed. She didn’t want her family or parents to know that we dated which I respect but wanted to go to prom with me. She told me that on prom she was gonna tell her parents but prom comes around and she never tells them. Then her cousin goes with her and she’s basically dancing with her cousin the whole time and hanging out with her cousin and friends. I wouldn’t have minded this if she told me she didn’t want to go as a couple but she made me match colors with her and literally told me she would tell her family we were dating prom day and never did it and instead just went with her cousins. Super hurt but I don’t know what to do. I already told her how it made me feel and everything but its hard just to move past that. Any advice?

I’m really sorry this happened to you. To be honest, when I was in high school I acted similarly to my boyfriend at the time and I deeply regret it. My advice would be to end the relationship, unfortunately. You should be with someone who wants to be with you too, and is in the right place (emotionally, with their family, etc.) to do that.
