I love live music & usually get really anxious about going to shows alone. Like if I can’t get one of my few friends to go, I usually skip. I’m also a woman in my mid 20s and have had a really hard time making new friends post college & pandemic.
Tomorrow I’m planning on going to a ska/punk show at a medium size venue. It will be the first show I go to alone in a very long time.
What tips do you have for initiating conversations with people? And potentially moving the conversation towards exchanging socials and continued contact?
I smoke so usually pretty easy to chat with people out front by either asking for a light or complimenting their outfit. But not sure how to go past that.
