Why would it be wrong to divorce over SO refusing genetic testing on child?

  1. In US states, the mother’s consent is not necessary for DNA/paternity testing.

You can divorce for any reason you like, but this sounds like just one version of a “shit test”. If someone wants the test done, just do it. No need to get into a situation where there is any conflict over the request.

  2. No, but it’s a bit extreme. We talking paternity test or potential disability screenings on a fetus or anything else?

  3. That seems like a fair reason to file for a divorce. Why would she be afraid of a paternity test if she didn’t do anything? I think it’s a good reason to file for divorce if she wouldn’t take a DNA test.

  4. Unless there’s a very serious doubt & evidence the children are not yours, then the level of mistrust you’re putting on her is off the charts

It would be very wrong unless there’s something tangible, and if it did go to divorce the judge could order to determine child support obligations

  5. What are you talking about here? Testing for inherited diseases? Paternity tests? Or just some daft 23andme shit?

  6. No it would be right. Yes a woman who hadn’t cheated would be upset, but if she hadn’t cheated she would do it and get over it in time

  7. There is only one reason why she would refuse a genetic test and that reason is additional extramarital penis.
