Is he cheating on me? Please help!

Hi all, Im sry if this might be random, but really don’t know where else better to go than here.

My one question: when searching for an app on ur IPhone Home Screen (dragging down and searching on iOS 15), can Siri suggest apps you have never downloaded before?

The optional BackStory:

my boyfriend and I of 6 months were FaceTiming on iPhones (with IOS15) and he shares his screen to show me something on GroupMe. As he was searching up the app in the Home Screen, Grindr appears. Now We’re both guys but we lasted used the app over 8 months ago wen we met. Furthermore, at that time, he created a throwaway Apple ID to download Grindr, so it shouldn’t be stored in his current Apple ID

Wen Grindr popped up in suggestions, I asked him about it, and he said he truly didn’t know why it popped up. He clicks on the app to show me, and were transferred to Grindr on the App Store. Here on the side, instead of “get” or “buy now”, the little icloud button with an arrow is shown. I asked “doesn’t that mean youve downloaded it before on this Apple ID?”

Him: “no for some reason all apps I don’t have show the iCloud button”

To prove it to me, he goes back to the Home Screen and searches some random word, I forgot exactly wat word, but out pops this random children’s game he claims he’s never downloaded before, he clicks on it and it once again brings him to the App Store, with the same iCloud arrow to download. “See my phone just suggests apps to me that I’ve never downloaded”. At that moment I trusted him to be telling the truth.

Last night he brought it up again and told me, Because he was searching up different forms of sexual activities for us to try (which at that time was true, we were both virgins), the data that from those searches were recorded into his phone, and that’s likely why siri suggested Grindr. He also said it could be because his phone previously did have Grindr on it it showed up, although it was a different Apple ID. I asked him to search the app up at the home page again, but this time it didn’t pop up. He said “I think it’s cause IOS 16 removed this suggestion feature”

I’ve scoured the Internet to see if siri could suggest apps you’ve never Downloaded before, but I cannot find a definite answer. So I come to you all for a last resort

This has been eating away at me for so long. I just wanna know, can Siri suggest apps you’ve never downloaded before? Specifically wen searching for apps on the Home Screen.

Thank u for any help!

Tldr; found a dating app on my partner’s Siri suggestions. claims he never downloaded it, but Siri recommends him apps he’s never downloaded. On the home page search, Can Siri suggest apps you’ve never downloaded before?

  1. I mean, he’s lying.

But that doesn’t mean he’s cheating.

All you know is that at some point he had Grindr on his phone and … honestly, yes, I don’t think it’s going to randomly show up on the search screen if he hasn’t. It shows you your most recently used apps.

But … even if he did download to his phone, that doesn’t mean he was using it. Lots of people use dating apps as a kind of window-shopping, with no intention to meet anyone.

Of course … it doesn’t mean he *wasn’t* using it to meet people, and, let’s be honest, the lies make that seem even less likely that his usage was benign here – although some people do default into lying when caught by something that they don’t think is that big a deal but will create a fight.

The whole “typing a random word” thing isn’t really much of a test, unless it’s YOU picking the random word. Because he could just type the name of something he knew he deleted.

I mean, weird shit happens sometimes. But I think you’ve clearly caught him in a lie, and while that doesn’t mean he’s cheating, it’s still not great.
