Heya!

As of like the last 3 years. For whatever reason. Like clock work around november.

My lips start to chap due to the cold outside (which is weird for someone spending so little time outside..)

And this lasts a solid half a year.

Which also means not smiling at all for half a year or else you get a massive gaping hole on your lips..

How are you supposed to deal with chapped lips if you already drink well in excess of 3L+ water daily and tried every single chap stick brand?

I’ve tried the men’s chap sticks and even women ones. Special ones for wintersport and what not..

Do any other men also experience this “impossible to fix” chapped lips problem?

What do you guys do to keep this to a minimum?

  1. If it’s this big of an issue you should see a doctor. Maybe there is a heavily medicated strength chapstick you can get prescribed.

    Good luck

  2. Carmex. I use carmex. No fucking stick, the one in a tin.

Always had chapped lips until I started using carmex. If you’ve already tried and it doesn’t work for you, then I guess you just have the ultimate bitch lips.

  3. I’ve had some serious chapped lips in my life, but I’ve never had a problem that Blistex couldn’t solve.

  4. Best bet is to leave them alone. Don’t lick them or put any product on them. Let them dry and scab over until the top layer of skin falls off and then usually once they heal they’ll be unchappable the rest of the winter.

  5. Not to that degree no. It can be a pain in the ass for sure. If I feel like they are starting to chap I start with the chapstick asap. I usually use Carmex or Burts bees wax. And dont lick them! But at this point maybe you just need to ask your Dr about it. Maybe something they can hell with.

  6. Use Vasaline, literally a food safe grease. It is useful as a general moisturizer (actually a sealant), stool softener, or low end bearing grease if you need something in a pinch.

Also try to avoid licking your lips.

  7. Whatever lip balm you prefer and Vaseline over it. Works for dry skin also (lotion + Vaseline).

  8. Not a man, but I had the worst chapped lips of my life while I was on Accutane. My lips pretty much peeled and stayed raw for weeks.

My magic cure was high quality pure lanolin – easiest way for me to buy it was to buy Lansinoh nipple cream. It healed my lips in a week or two and now I swear by that shit.

  9. My hands get fiercely dry. While dressing a cut on one of my fingers with triple antibiotic ointment, I got too much on my hands. So I just treated it like hand cream, and rubbed it in. It softened up my calloused hands. Tried it as a lip balm. Doesn’t taste great, but it’s quite good on cracked lips.
