Do I need to pay vehicle tax and MOT?

2. certainly tax (although you may get away with SORN), not so sure on the mot though. Also probably need insurance.

3. If you’re parking it on a public road, you will need it to be taxed and MOT-ed. Will need to be insured too, because you won’t be able to SORN it.

   A quick Google would’ve given you this answer.

   Can’t tax without an MOT, and continuous insurance enforcement law means must have insurance.

   If you declare it off road i.e SORN, must be off of a public road, and only on a private road.

5. In general, yes. Though some vehicles don’t require an MOT and some vehicles have zero-rate road tax. You will also need insurance (at least, third-party) for the vehicle. Also if the vehicle is not maintained in a roadworthy condition then it may be deemed abandoned (and this could also affect things like insurance validity).

7. Why would you buy a car and then just park it on the road without ever moving it? You’d be better off not buying a car in the first place.
