So I (18m) recently changed my surname to my mother’s maiden name and I feel like I’m not a real ( surname) and not part of the family like my family members that got the surname through the paternal lineage. I wish I was part of the paternal lineage and I feel like my mom messed everything up. I feel like people don’t consider me a (surname) and it sucks.
