i’ve been talking to a guy a few weeks and we had discussed meeting before he left the country for a trip, but he could only meet for lunch because he was busy. it ended up not happening, and when he got back he said he was excited to finally meet and asked when i was free. then when i threw out a day he asked if 12 was okay. to be clear he knows i work in person and not remote so i am limited on time. so why would he still want to try and meet up for the first time for lunch on a wednesday for less than an hour?? i understand low stakes but come on…even today he asked where i wanted to go because he wasn’t familiar with the area since i live a city over. (it will be at least a 25 min drive for him to meet) i have literally never had a first date in the daytime during a work week. does this sound off or am i just making a big deal out of nothing?

  1. Low consequence date with a set expiry limit. If the convo is going down hill fast, you only have to endure it for less than 1 hour.

Also daytime. Work make-up in full sunlight is a true indicator of how you look irl than at night when you’re done up under candlelight.

  2. Only being available for workday, lunch dates is, for me, a man’s way of telling me he’s married. And has no plans to change that.
