Facebook request, do I take action?

Textbook scenario, one random night I got a request from this girl while texting in a group chat, had no idea why, as my profile is very private to random people. I had made eye contact with her before, and today aswell, but haven’t talked to her much, am I now able to gun it and see what happens? She is pretty good looking and is getting a much better education than me.

Edit: Addition to the eye contact, this happened first at an afterparty of a halloween event we organized, everyone was drinking and having a good time, I ditched it to hang out with my friend instead.
