So there’s this one girl that I’ve been meaning to send a message to on DM cause I almost never have an opportunity to see her irl. She’s in this sorority that’s good friends with my fraternity, but the last few joint events she hasn’t been at. Been meaning to do this for weeks as a result, cause she seems super cool and cute, but this initial start is what I always struggle with. I know from posts she’s into star wars and I can always talk about an event that happened, but the last one she was at was a while ago, and the most recent would be a good starting ground but she wasn’t there. Every angle I look at this from it feels like it’ll come off weird or creepy, even though her liking my posts and whatnot is somewhat of a yellow light and I have no reason to believe this couldn’t exactly be a mutual feeling. I’ve got no idea what to do, but I just wanna get my shit together and move finally, any ideas?

DM her saying you glanced at her Instagram page noticed her interest in Star Wars and that she liked some of your posts. Say you are interested in Star Wars and talk about that. Also mention you noticed her around in some frat/sorority events and would love to talk to her in person. Invite her to an in person conversation or event.
Harsh truth: you will NEVER form a deeper connection with anybody solely on Instagram or any social media even if you think you are. In fact, relying on Instagram as your only form of communication with this person will unconsciously train you to become needy. You just have to make the move you are putting off right now to connect with this person in real life.
