When hairspray isn’t enough

  1. My hair outright refuses to curl or even straighten. It’s too healthy – and I’m being deadly serious here, it’s too soft and healthy to hold any other shape than its natural shape.

However, I’ve found those flexi rod things paired with a LOT of hairspray to somewhat work – at least, for about half a day.

  2. Do curls on hair that has been washed at least 1+ days ago and use steam curlers for at least an hour plus a good quality hair spray to lock in the curls.

  3. Honestly, I gave up. I have very fine, very straight Asian hair that just hangs there. Nothing holds it unless it’s sprayed to a crisp. I just get a good quality loose curl digital perm about 1-2x a year to have some life in it all the time, and then I don’t have to worry about messing with it every day.

  4. I curl it and pin the curl to my head and let it loose when I’m done. Or hot rollers

  5. I don’t. Even after it was done professionally, at most half a day, because I have heavy hair. I like my hair as is though

  6. Curly Hair Method worked for me, but it’s exhausting to keep up. It kinda doesn’t work anymore now that I’m pregnant. My hair won’t hold curls for more than a few hours anymore. They just fall out.

  7. I have straight and thick hair. Curling iron and hairspray don’t work as my hair is too heavy. The only thing that works for me is wet hair and curlers. I prefer to leave it overnight, as it takes forever to dry with a blowdryer.

  8. Mine refuses to hold curls. It’s completely straight. I can manage to get some waves but my hair reverts back straight pretty quickly.

  9. Having my hair wrapped up in a tight bun for about 8 hours. Curling iron won’t do a thing, but I have fabulous curls after having it up all day or night like that.

Or I wrap a couple scrunchies from the top of my ponytail to the bottom. I usually do that to keep it getting too tangled over night

  10. I had the same problem as everyone here.. super straight hair.

Discovered mouse plus Cantu curl activating cream and now itll do it! The curly girl method is pretty good too, sometimes I do TGCM then heated rollers

  11. Do not use any products in your hair other than shampoo, 24 hours prior to wanting to curl it. If I condition my hair it will drop out within a hour. Shampoo then leave to dry, no products at all!

  12. Thick Asian hair here. I use a flat iron to make the curls, stays for days! You can make them really tight if you want or looser, just depends on how hard you clamp down on your hair.

  13. Wash, blow dry, curl immediately after dry. Works much better for me than air drying.
