Have a two person conversation in a group text.
Blow up my phone with a million texts, with a few words each to make a sentence.
1. Just saying something like “hi” or “hey” or “what’s up” without following up with an actual conversation topic.
2. Sending a bunch of messages in a row instead of a single longer and more complete/coherent message.
Medium switching: It’s poor ettiquette and mildly infuriating.
If i text and I get a voice note back, I’m probably not opening it. Conversation killer.
A call, or worse, videocall? Not picking up.
??? : Sending any follow up message consisting of punctuation only, unless you are my current employer, is an instant block. No exceptions.
Group texts: WTH, I don’t get this. Just make a WhatsApp group or text me separately or something, anything but this! SMS does not lend itself to group conversations and I have a private number you just sent out without my permission dammit
“Alot”
Also, putting something in a group text that doesn’t apply to everyone in the group
Send me memes I saw last week. Like argh, no, send me new or niche memes!
K.
Texting things that really should be talked about
Adding me into a group chat
More in an online setting but being concerned that I don’t respond right away. Like bro I disappear from time to time I promise I’m not ignoring you.
A paragraph length text with no punctuation or indication where one thought ends and the other begins. If you’re going to text me a novel, at least make sure it’s semi coherent.
When you text them and they call you.
Leave me on read
Initiating a casual conversation, then taking days to send a follow up message
When people respond to a text that I sent earlier in the day at like 2 or 3am, even more so if their response is a simple “ok”, or if my previous text didn’t really need a response. I’m a light sleeper. Now it will take me an hour to get back to sleep after you sent me “Ok” at 3am.
lol at the end of every text. I stop responding when I see it.
When someone reaches out to you first and then leaves you hanging there 😐 or they are waiting for you to make most of the convo.
Not answering all the questions I asked. It’s okay if I repeat it once or twice. But if they keep forgetting or not seeing my questions, i get annoyed lolol
Drops a dozen separate messages without giving me a chance to reply.
