so I’m only doing college online, don’t work, can’t drive, etc. would striking up a conversation in a store be ok or should I mind my bussiness?

edit I forgot to say I don’t mean with the cashiers because I know that they’re working

  1. Depends on the person, but everyone can probably appreciate a quick remark to feel acknowledged.

If people don’t seem to talk that much back if you’re in line or whatever, then they’re likely not emotionally available at the moment.

  2. Some people in stores are, some aren’t. You can also talk to people here on reddit.

  3. What is it that you want to start a conversation about in a store? When someone says something to me it’s because we are waiting in line and they want to share their annoyance, or when they want to pass you and something funny happens and we both say something funny and go hahaha and then done.

If someone wants to start a conversion in the store… we’ll I’ll be honest with you: I’m not there to socialize. I come to get stuff and be gone. If I want to socialize, I suppose there are other options.
