I have female coworkers who are super into skincare and they spend hundreds of dollars on it monthly probably. They have motivated me to try and take better care of my skin, so now I take biotin pills, I try to wash my face twice a day though it’s usually just once lol, and I also put sunscreen on my face twice a day. I have noticed that my skin looks more vibrant and hydrated, but I still break out on my cheeks a bit.

  1. Lot of the options out there are bullshit but I do take biotin, use moisturizing sunscreen, and try to make sure my skin is kept moisturized without overdoing it. Beyond that? Naw

  2. Never really had to, I just wash my face in the shower, and that’s about it, only other thing I use on my face is shaving cream

  3. I wash my face 2 times a day with Cerave foam face cleaner, then during the week I’ll use my Olay Scrub twice like on a monday or thursday then use some face cream at night.

  4. Sunscreen is very important. Try to incorporate an exfoliant a couple times a week and you might see fewer break outs. A mechanical exfoliant would be like a scrub, but there’s also chemical exfoliants, where you don’t have to do anything but apply them. Also follow up with a moisturizer.

  5. Scientifically the only thing that works is sunscreen and moisturizer. Everything thing else barely passed humans trials with shady funding from corporations.

  6. Yea, I have a tendency to get blackheads easily so I have one in place. I use Vit C serum and sunscreen/moisturizer combo in the morning and tretinoin and regular moisturizer at night, applied after washing my face after brushing my teeth. Keeps everything clear and smooth.

  7. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

  8. Nope. I grew up in a traditionally masculine household. Skincare products, or just general body care products are “girls stuff”.

So soap and water. That’s it.

I understand this isn’t a progressive point of view. I am absolutely not defending it. I’m just explaining my conditioning.
