How long were you together/dating before your partner asked you to be together officially?

1. It was about 1 month before we were official! Our one year is next week 🙂

2. Husband was a one night stand to begin with, he took me out again like a week later and we got that shit sorted out then.

3. About 6 months to get married. But we know each other a long time as friends first

   But we’d been friends for a few months and it was obvious from the start that he was looking for a relationship with me (no pressure, he just jumped at any chance to spend time together no matter what) and I was taking my time to confirm I wouldn’t be getting into another abusive relationship if I gave him a chance. So by the time we started dating there wasn’t much point in waiting to make it exclusive.

   5 years later and I can’t imagine life with anyone else and he’s absolutely my best friend and everything I could ever want in a partner.

7. Lol. Probably like 8 years actually. I met him about a decade ago, we dated casually off tinder/pof/whatever it was back then. We saw each other on and off – I was seeing other guys at the time, sometimes we went months without talking. In 2016, I met my ex, who I ended up getting engaged to. That ended in Nov 2019. I needed support and reached out to my current partner in June 2020, and we’ve been together ever since. Even though we hadn’t spoken in ages, I knew he would always be there for me – I remember early on with my ex fiancé, my current partner didn’t like how he was treating me one night and drove 45 mins each way to come pick me up and take me home. My ex fiancé ended up being extremely abusive.

   Anyway, it caused a lot of turmoil for my current partner, but I am very thankful he has stuck with me through everything, including harassing calls from my ex early on. He didn’t deserve all the baggage, but he knew who I was from before that and chose to stand by me.

   The first year was rough due to the drama, but since then, we’ve had a better relationship than I could’ve ever imagined. I am thankful every day for him, I have no idea what I did to deserve such a wonderful person in my life.

10. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend like almost 3 months after we first met and started going out together.

11. We were 14, so I think I just became his girlfriend one day.

    Hes my husband now so it worked out.

12. Ehm. We were just coworkers for 4 months, upgraded to friends for 1 month, casual dating for 1.5 weeks then officially monogamously together since. So, *after 1.5 weeks*

13. Worked together, not very closely. Got chatting to him and within 2 weeks we were together. 1 year later engaged, 1 year later married and now expecting a baby. When our baby is born we will be together for 3 years.
