I’m pretty sure the dog
It’s just a more fitting name for a dog.
Bingo was definitely the dog. Old McDonald had the farm
It was the dog. Sadly we will never know the infamously spelling and clapping farmer’s name. He is lost to history.
‘Twas the dogs name for sure
It’s the dog
Yes
It’s a Scottish song. Go to r/askuk .
There was a farmer had a dog
And BINGO was his name-o
B-I-N-G-O
B-I-N-G-O
B-I-N-G-O
And BINGO was his name-o
It could be the farmer. Did Bingo have a dog or did the farmer have a dog named Bingo.
One of life’s great mysteries
I have wondered this my entire life. This post inspired me to [the original version of the song](https://allnurseryrhymes.com/bingo-song/) which confirms the dog is in fact ‘little Bingo.’ Which leaves open the possibility that the farmer was Big Bingo.
It also includes verses like:
The farmer lov’d a cup of good ale,
He call’d it rare good stingo.
S—T with an I — I with an N,
N with a G — G with an O;
He call’d it rare good stingo:
S—T—I—N—G—O!
>please resolve
Alright everybody, by the power invested in me by myself, I hereby declare that Bingo is the name of the dog.
Issue resolved.
Clearly Bingo was the protagonist.
I’d like to think it was the farmer. And the farmer was actually an intergalactic bounty hunter that used his farm as a cover identity.
Or maybe it’s the dog.
“Old Macdonald had a dog and Bingo was his name-o.”
