As the title says, I signed up for a trip with my university group to do some activities abroad. At the time, I thought that by now I’ll be more confident and socially ready after my therapy session for anxiety. However, I’m immensely scared at the prospect of spending a week with people I’m not familiar with.
I’ve improved so much socially, I’m more receptive and engaging. However, it’s impossible for me to build connections from the get go, and to be quite honest I’ll probably not speak unless I’m spoken to – reason being I feel everyone will find me an inconvenience (silly I know, but hey that’s anxiety for you).
This can either be the best trip of my life or the worst!Any advice is appreciated

  1. Only tips I feel are useful,
    1. Don’t go with any expectations
    2. Show a good attitude and people will gravitate towards you
    3. It doesn’t matter if you struggle starting convos just stay calm and attentive to other people and ask things related to university, their families, their dreams and hobbies, that way you can find topics that are connections that tou can use to create bonds with other people
