I’ve (22F) noticed that people tend to say that I’m cute (not in a condescending way) after I say something funny or get excited. Some examples of people who said this to me are my supervisor at my old job (a 30 year old woman) and my boyfriend (a year older than me). Why is this?

  1. Not be trite, but probably because you were acting cute.

Even if you may not find yourself cute, others may feel that you are. That doesn’t mean that you, or them, are wrong. It’s all about perception and that’s subjective.

To give an example, some guys think they’re ugly, when other people find them handsome. It’s the same thing, perspective.
