In social situations, I rarely ever laugh. Whenever I do it’s very unexpected. It makes situations awkward when people are laughing hard and I have to just fake it (which is always obvious). I’m wondering if anyone else relates or knows why. It’s not that I don’t find things funny, I just usually can’t force more than a chuckle out while others laugh hysterically.

It makes me feel like a buzzkill and someone who is judgemental and not fun to be around.

  1. I used to be the same. I’m still fairly reserved in my laughter but I taught myself to chuckle by practicing the sounds when no one was listening and doing it as rehearsed. I remember it feeling awkward and forced at first, but after some practice it fell into naturality
