At work, there’s this girl who works in the bakery who has been acting weird…
I recently found out she’s 38 and was shocked because she looks 18 and is about 4’8-5’0 tall and seems extremely sheltered and innocent like a child by the way she acts. I’m 30 myself but people keep mistaking me for an 18-year-old… (so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised).
I work in the deli which is next door to the bakery, so technically, we can talk to the bakery workers as if they were neighbors over the fence.
This morning, I was filling out the work book, when I could hear someone talking. It was the girl. She had placed a bunch of buns in the oven (no pun intended) and somehow destroyed them all… She’s new so I guess she isn’t very good at her job. But she kept kept laughing at her silly mistake and trying to get my attention (I don’t even know her).
As this girl was trying to get my attention, my deli co-worker, Lucy, walked by and was wondering why she was trying to get our attention. So this girl showed Lucy the buns she’s destroyed and Lucy just blankly stares at her like ‘*’Why the fuck are you wanting us to see your burnt bread so badly?”* and then walked off on her. I noticed the girl just kind of awkwardly slithered away after that.
She seems so spaced out like Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter (no this isn’t me trying to be poetic). It’s just the best analogy I can think of for her unusual childlike behavior (but I do find it charming).
But compared to like 90% of women, this girl will just keep coming up to me and talking about the most random things like a child telling you about their day. And I’ll just sit and entertain her attention span until she has to go.

First of all, your friend is rude.
Secondly, she might be a weird person but maybe she is just trying to make friends. It could not be only you btw. Also she is not trying to talk with you. I think she talks with you. But to discover her intention i think you just try to know her a bit right ? Its not very good idea to directly ask her if she is a loner and try to make friends. She would be discouraged by you if you directly ask and if she is try to make friends. So trying to know her a bit will help you about her intentions.
