I’ve read that a huge amount of people have genital herpes.

Is it that easy to contract? If I sleep with someone using a condom and we both don’t have any visible outbreaks are we likely fine?

If so, why do so many people have a virus that’s so obvious/visible when it’s contagious?

  1. Do some research: it is very contagious + it isn’t always obvious and visible… and it’s not always contracted from penetrative (vaginal or anal) sex… some people get it from oral sex.

    Also, many people don’t know they have it, they are just carriers of the disease but remain asymptomatic (but are still contagious).

  2. It spreads from skin to skin contact and isn’t always visible when an outbreak first starts.
