I’ve had speech issues for as long as I can remember and I don’t know what to do.

I speak very quickly, I usually don’t think before I speak so whatever comes out, just comes out. I’ve been told I speak fast, I stumble over words, and I often say the wrong thing. I feel it just got worse lately honestly?

I have good social skills actually and am very outgoing, a lot of friends (somehow) etc. Except for communicating verbally! My brain just moves very quickly (unfortunately, not in the smart way) haha and I don’t know. I guess I sound like I’ve always had 20 cups of coffee. Got the shaky hands and stuff too.

**How do you consciously remind yourself to speak slowly? How do you not just blurt out your thoughts and think before speaking?**

\*I will say, in my own defense, I learned as a teen how to properly hold a conversation, I don’t talk too much, I ask questions about the other person, and I can tell when someone does not want to talk with me and I know when to leave people alone. My issue is more of a speech impediment thing.\*

\*Also, when I mean by, “blurting stuff out” I DO NOT mean I say anything rude or bluntly. This I am conscious of and am very careful to not offend anyone.\*
