2 months ago, I planned to visit a friend for a few days and told them a week in advance I would be in town and but they told me we couldn’t meet up cuz they would be working a lot. A couple days ago, I asked them if they wanted to zoom some time later in the month and they told me they’d have more time next month if I want to plan for then. I then said it was fine and suggested after may 2nd and they said it sounds good and explained they’ll be working less

I was wondering, should I feeling bothered by this as are they blowing me off twice in a row or not as they did suggest an alternate date? Or are they possibly avoiding me and I should take the hint?

  1. No. You offered a hangout, they declined with a valid reason. You offered to meet virtually, and they suggested a date that works for them.

If they were avoiding you, they wouldn’t have offered and alternative date.

I can understand why you would feel upset over this and it’s valid, but I think there’s room for compassion and flexibility on your part.
