TLDR; I went on a date with this one person and we both hit it off. Second date, we had sex. Obviously it’s too early within the relationship to decide if this is going to be something more than long-term what are the consequences to having sex early on in the relationship?

  1. Only if you don’t use protection.

    This whole idea that having sex “too soon” ruins relationships needs to be put to bed. It doesn’t’ matter when you decide to have sex. If you have sex on the 1st date and nothing happens afterwards, it’s not because you had sex on the 1st date.

  3. The consequence is a higher chance of a good relationship because it’s clear that you’re not using sex as leverage.
