So I asked this guy out from my lab to have coffee with me. He said sure and we did go. We seemed to hit it off pretty well from what I could tell. At the end I said thank you for meeting with me and that I really enjoyed talking with him. He said sure and that we should do this again.
So the two days later I texted (he hadn’t at all) and said he was welcome to have dinner with my family for Thanksgiving because he wasn’t going home over break. He already had plans, but said that we should get together after Thanksgiving.
He hasn’t texted, it’s been over a week. I figured he wasn’t interested, but why would he mention getting together again twice. Then I thought he was just letting me down gently.
What do you think of the situation?

You asked him out to coffee. Good for you for taking the initiative. But probably wasn’t super attracted to you. So no follow up date by him. As for the ‘invite’ after thanksgiving, that was just being polite. A ‘maybe’ date is not a real date. He’s not interested. You’ll just have to move on.
