What do you do with elegant dresses you just wear once?

  1. This is why Rent the Runway exists: so people can rent an outfit and then mail the outfit back to the company.

Imo it makes more sense than buying a dress you’ll never wear again.

If I buy a dress, I try to make sure it’s something I can wear to multiple functions.

  2. I keep them so that I can potentially wear them again to another special occasion someday.
If I had any that I felt wouldn’t be able to be worn again, I’d probably donate them to a thrift store.

  3. The only dress I wore once is my wedding dress. .I guess I have had two fancy dresses for all my fancy occasions for the last 10 years. I just keep wearing them.

  4. Hang them in a wardrobe and wear to someone’s wedding.

If I’m solid I’ll never wear them again, I sell them

  5. I honestly try not to buy something that I’ll only wear once. I’ll hold on to them in case I get an invite to a wedding and need something fancy or I’ll find an excuse to wear a fancy dress. Either a date night or going out with friends.

  6. Donate them. Someone can use them as a grad dress, wear it to a formal event, turn it into a Halloween costume or whatever.

  7. I kept my daughters JROTC Military Ball dress just in case of of my friends daughters wants to wear it. It’s been in the closet for years. If neither if the girls want it, I will donate to an organization that provides prom dresses to girls who can’t afford them.

  8. I only have a couple, but I kept them in case there’s an occasion to wear them again.
