The person whose lane you just entered might be annoyed if they’re playing a serious game. But I’d think most of the time they’d laugh (both with and at you) then move on.
go out to the parking lot, pistol duel at 12 paces. No exceptions.

It happens with children a lot. It usually just gets laughed off.
Having worked in a bowling alley in my youth, I can tell you without exception, everyone laughs and we reset the pins if necessary
You get kicked out because either you are that clumsy and will break something, or you “accidentally” did it. At least you sure as hell did in the one my grandfather owned.

You go to jail for life. We have zero tolerance for bowling-ball-throwing here in the USA.
I did this once (on purpose) and got a strike. We all laughed, but we also were all hanging out together and goofing around anyway.
