Men of reddit if you had to choice one video game to play for your rest of your life what whould it be and why did you choose it?

1. RDR2. I’d love to live in it, without the racial tensions of 1899 tho

2. Beat Saber if my body would be able to keep up, but I feel around 50 I won’t be able to play it at all

   so maybe Dwarf Fortress – it’s nice

3. Personally I would choose the Witcher 3. It’s an incredibly vast and detailed game with hundreds of hours of content, and it has amazing replay value. Plus the setting is just so cool and I love the characters.

4. If I’m going to be playing it over and over again its gotta be a game that doesn’t rely on a “plot” to be engaging- emergent storytelling is a must. So no RPGs unfortunately. Probably a big strategy game. Some good options:

   – Terra invicta: very sandboxy, lots of options and ways to do things, a single playthru can easily take from 50-100 hrs

   – Stellaris:; also a very long and sandboxy game. If I’m also allowed access to mods this one is probably a no-brainer

   – Civ 6

5. Re2 Remake or 4. I just don’t get bored of those two games

7. Fortnite.

   It keeps changing and updating with lots of new ideas.

8. Hard to choose one, it would be heart braking to give up some but i’d go with metal gear solid 3: subsistance.

9. Minecraft, and I don’t even like Minecraft much but it’s probably the most replayable game ever, it can be played socially or alone and mods etc.

13. Breath of the wild, or wind waker wiiu if there is active people playing online, or Persona 5, or Skyrim, or mortal Kombat 3, x, or 11 if there is an active online presence.

19. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction. Amazing writing, acting, atmosphere, story… I go back and play it a lot still. It still makes me so emotional. It’s like the best movie or book I’ve ever seen or read.

    Could pretty much make it into any type of themed game you want with mods

21. Minecraft, easiest choice ever.

    You gave no parameters and since this is the game I will play till I die, I wanted something with variability.

    There are countless custom maps ranging from platforming to adventure, mini games on servers ranging from DayZ to pictionary, mods you can download for free ranging from SimCity to No Man’s Sky.

    You can also find over 100,000 mods on CurseForge that can be installed to heighten any style of gameplay. Whether you want something more adventurous or something more technical, you can find dozens of modpacks to play.

    Not to mention damn near any PC could play it with a few mods to increase performance. My 8 year old laptop still can get 60-80 fps on the newest version.

    History, warfare, economics, gripping storytelling, humor, strategy, world building, just peak gameplay for me.

37. For me. If I had to choose I would see if the option of selecting no games was an option, and if I had to choose one. I would get the shittiest mobile game I can find… Or a porn game for other uses.

    I have mostly quit gaming in the last 2 years but still find myself playing a few times a month. A total ban on games would be frustering but honestly prob for the best in terms of life/mental health. I’d choose the shittiest game to prevent me from playing at all, or find the best porn game I can in case I ever want something different to jack off 2. lol

38. Probably Battle Brothers. If for no other reason, I know how to mod the crap out of it until it feels like a different game.

39. Rocksmith 2014 for PC. Cracked version gives the ability to add your own custom songs, which means infinite replayability.

42. With mods? Minecraft. I’ll just play pretty much any other game I want inside it.
