I’ve been crushing on this girl the same age as me ever since I was in the 8th grade. I never confessed to her back in school but she knew I liked her (my friends told her about it). She didn’t seem to like me back, I know this because our texts and conversations were majorly me carrying the conversation. I stopped talking to her after the 8th grade mainly because she wasn’t interested but I never stopped liking her. She started dating my best friend 3 years back and ever since then we’ve been hanging out a lot. I’ve been avoiding texting her on purpose due to my feelings for her. But she initiates texts with me all the time asking me how I’m doing, how university is going, asking me to recommend her movies to watch or music to listen to. (all 3 of us live in different countries now btw i.e me, my crush, my bestfriend).
I need your advice on 2 topics:
1. do you think she likes me back? or does she see me as her boyfriends best friend? why do you think she slides into my DMs and hits me up all the time? Honestly it hurts being led on by a crush of 8 years.
2. How do I move on? Is crushing on someone for 8+ years normal?
