Hi, I am 23 f and he is 26 m, we’ve been together for 6 months. The relationship has been good, but recently I’ve noticed something. Any time that I wake up in the middle of the night and check insta, he is also online or it shows he was active 20/30 mins ago.
We’ve been dating for a bit of time and this constant being on Ig in the mid of night seems to be a new thing to me. I don’t understand it because he said he is very happy, and he hardly follows anyone at all on IG. He likes to mindlessly scroll and watch reels/memes that I know, but I can’t imagine why someone would be acting like this, and he would usually say the next morning that he slept well
I’m starting to have some concerns about this behavior. TL;DR I could use some input thank you

So you’re mad that your boyfriend is doing the exact same thing you’re doing? What is the actual problem here?
Why is it a problem for him to be doing this when you’re doing exactly the same thing by checking up on his activities?
It’s no big deal.
My wife struggles to fall and stay asleep.
Many nights I will find her on her phone looking at Chelsea Lynn or IG .
I would rather my wife be happy and get some enjoyment rather than lay in bed struggling to sleep.
This is no big deal.
I wouldn’t worry about it.
Instagram Scrolling Syndrome is real.
So… You’re checking instagram when you wake up in the middle of the night, and that’s fine, but when your boyfriend does the exact same thing it’s not fine and you automatically assume the worst of him? Why?
Some of us have insomnia so we go look at things like adorable kitten videos to shut our brains off. Your bf should be asking why you’re monitoring his screen time.
Your behavior is what’s concerning here.

This by itself isn’t a red flag of any kind. I also wouldn’t call it strange.
There’s probably a post from your boyfriend here somewhere saying that he gets up in the middle of the night and sees that you were just on Instagram LOL
Maybe he’s bored? Why don’t you ask him? Why are you checking if he’s online I. The middle of the night?
