There’s this girl I’ve gotten to know at my job and she’s hasn’t been here long and I want to text her and become closer friends with her. I’m a female too by the way and I just want to text and say “hi what’s up”. We have an app called hot schedules where we can text coworkers about shifts or if they are want to cover a shift. You can see everyone’s number on there and who’s working with you on a specific day. I just want to text a say hi and build a stronger friendship but I feel she’ll think it’s weird. Is it weird? I’ve had one coworker do this with and i didn’t think it was weird.

It’s not really weird, it’s all about perception of how they take it. Honestly just do it. Worst case she’s not interested. Then you move on.
Its totally not weird I always want people to reach out to me first because I have social anxiety. Text her and ask if she wants to get lunch or coffee during your break.
