Hey there Reddit, as the title suggests I’m a bit awkward socially and therefore quite anxious about any kind of social gatherings, especially planning events. But I’ll be turning 30 in a few weeks and I really want to organize a party to bring my friends together and celebrate for a change. I asked my closest friends about their preferred date (in January to let people breathe after the holidays) and sent out invitations, but only got a handful of replies and I am realizing that maybe January is not the best moment with many people having time and money constraints during that period. My colleague suggested I change the date and push the party back to May or June, but how do I announce it to everyone without it being awkward? I’m afraid that people will drop out seeing that I changed my mind… Sorry about the long post but I hope you guys can offer some tips or reassurance.
