If you were to create a Pantheon of American Historical figures, who would they be and what would they be the god of?

1. The funny thing is that we kinda/sorta have that already. The original Capitol dome was modeled after the physical Pantheon, but that one was replaced with the current dome that has the fresco [The Apotheosis of Washington](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Apotheosis_of_Washington)

2. Bronx Community College is home to the [Hall of Fame for Great Americans](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_of_Fame_for_Great_Americans)

3. Jesse Owens would be our Hermes.

   He was super fast, and at the ’36 Olympics he made sure the Nazis *got the fucking message*.

4. The great emperor Norton.

5. Teddy Roosevelt would be Artemis, god(dess) of the Hunt and nature more broadly.

6. Abigail Adams as Hera. While John never slept around which makes him much better than Zeus(and why I will not smear him by calling him Zeus) they were the first power couple of America. She was steadfastly and unflinchingly loyal to her husband. Hera was also seen as the protector of women and family and Abby was one of the first figures in American history to call for the rights of women, advocating for them to have equal access to education and for women to have the right to own property.

7. Bass Reeves the God of law and detention. While he doesn’t judge he’s tasked with hunting all marked for judgement.
