I’ve been on the apps for a year now, and most first dates don’t turn into a second one.

I recently matched with someone, chit chatted a bit, asked them out on a date, so we got food. We both work at schools, so she mostly just talked about her job then I talked a bit about mine. Date was pretty short.

I asked her out for a 2nd one since I felt like we both saw 0 percent of each others personality, but she declined say we didn’t click.

And I’m thinking “How can you possibly tell after 45 minutes of polite getting to know you chit chat.”

Then I realized that every single person I’ve met from dating apps has never exceeded a whopping 4 dates.

I just feel like online dating has a nasty churn and burn nature to it where it’s really hard to get any significant footing towards a real connection.

A woman mentioned here once “It takes some time to see if there is chemistry but only one date to know if there’s none.”

How many different matches have you been on dates with this year?

  2. I mean I can tell pretty quickly if there’s zero chemistry on a 45 minute date. Had a nice chit chat with a woman at a bar for a quick lunch. By the end of it I really didn’t feel any chemistry whatsoever. Didn’t bother setting up anything further from that. Also went on 4 dates with another girl where there was some chemistry but by the 4th date I wasn’t getting an impression that she was looking to move things further so I stopped seeing her. It’s a crapshoot.
