Do frequent celebrities encounter occur in other areas outside of LA and NYC?

1. Gotta say, living in a small town in rural Minnesota, I have yet to see a celebrity. Might just be bad luck on my part, though.

2. I don’t know if “frequent” is the right word. For example, there are always a lot of celebrities at the annual Seattle International Film Festival, but that’s only for a few weeks. Outside of that, most celebrity encounters are going to be happenstance. Also, since they’re not common, most people aren’t going to be jaded by it. I once ended up in the same restaurant as Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart in Jackson, WY. Most people behaved themselves, but they definitely were starstruck. The seating hostess actually ran after them for their autographs.

3. Celebrities are all over. I’ve got no clue how other people react. I’ve actually run into quite a few while on vacation in different states.

5. I ran into Kit Harington in London and when I told my friend from London about it she said, “sounds about right. that’s London for ya”. So maybe London.

   I just realized this was the Ask American sub so yeah also South Florida

6. I grew up in an upscale resort area and there were lots of celebrities around all the time. So in places like that where the rich people want to go, yes.

7. I grew up close to LA. I’m not sure I’d say I experienced frequent celebrity encounters, but I have seen and met several celebrities over the years at various car shows and motorcycle events around Southern California.

   Jay Leno frequents both as well as the Rock Store in Malibu. Several other celebrities have been known to visit there also.

8. I met Neil Patrick Harris in Wyandotte once.

9. I don’t think any celebrities really come to my town.

   If they did I probably wouldn’t recognize them.

   If I recognized them I would just treat them like anyone else.

10. When I lived in Aspen it was normal to see famous people walking around. No one made a big deal of it. They go there for that reason.

11. I ran into Cameron Diaz at a gym in Tampa, and heard others talking about seeing her. At the time she was dating some Yankees baseball player and they have their training in Tampa, so I guess it makes sense that she’d be around the city

12. A fair amount of movies and TV shows have been shot in Cincinnati, probably because it’s a great “unspecified midsize city” location. I know a handful of people who were extras/stand-ins/local production crew for various projects, but it’s not super common to see the actors out and about.

    I vaguely remember my parents saying “hey look, it’s Jodie Foster!” when Foster was in Cincinnati filming *Little Man Tate*… but I was only five or six years old at the time, so I didn’t really understand who Jodie Foster was or why it mattered that she was at the same random restaurant as my family.

13. Yes? A little bit. I live in Muscle Shoals Alabama and Billy Corgan, Jack White, and Steven Tyler have all dropped by in the past couple of years. I remember seeing George Jones at the store when I was a kid.

15. When I lived with n Las Vegas, definitely. But I have actually seen a surprising amount in my hometown too.

17. Miami, Vegas, and Jackson Hole are celebrities hot spots too.

18. Atlanta, I would say yes. Once I realized I was in an elevator with Alex Kingston.

19. I’ve never met one where I’ve lived. Doubt I’d even recognize any of them.
