What Are Some Good Stories (Books / Films etc.) That Have a Male “Damsel in Distress” and a Female Protagonist That Saves Him?

  1. * **Neuromancer** by William Gibson. Molly is a cybernetically-enhanced mercenary hired to protect a male hacker who is useless in physical combat.
    * **NieR: Automata.** It’s a video game, but the faster, stronger, taller, and tougher female Android 2B has to rescue her much weaker male partner 9S in one mission. [She even princess carries him out of the villain’s lair.](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/54a4792ae4b0ac4256d985e4/1547362226057-SW2TDWVNI8M096S40KV9/image-asset.png)
    * In DC Comics, the towering 7’2″ Big Barda often has to rescue her average-sized husband, Mister Miracle.
    * Same with Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor.
    * Sailor Moon has had to rescue Tuxedo Mask a few times.
    * In **The Sandman**, Dream’s sister Death sort of saves The Dreaming from her brother inadvertently dooming its existence.
    * Catwoman rescues Bruce Wayne from Poison Ivy in **Batman: The Long Halloween.**
    * **Neon Genesis Evangelion.** Shinji is ALWAYS getting rescued by Rei and Asuka.
    * **My Hero Academia.** The protagonist is a boy who is admitted to a superhero academy with a Quirk he can’t control, so his female classmates have had to save him a few times.

  2. Kick-ass maybe? Although from memory her dad really helped her save Kickass.

In What If Captain Carter saves a whole bunch of men, but that felt more like a “women can do it too!” deal, since Captain America did the same thing and got more screen time doing it.

There aren’t heaps of great examples are there?

  3. Does Get Smart count? Lol. One of my favorite films where Anne Hathaway is a complete badass.
