I’m currently 21, graduated from college this past May and haven’t had an irl relationship since I was 16 or 17. Most of my dating history has been long-distance online but every time I go out, I see couples everywhere and I just feel so lonely that I don’t have anybody. Throughout high school and college, I felt like the odd one out. I was socially awkward and devoted a lot of my time to my studies, which allowed me to graduate college early. I have my priorities but I also find myself with a lot of time and I want to use that time to get out and find the one but I don’t know where to start. I’m looking for some direction and advice on how to become close with someone without getting friendzoned because that often happens whenever I try to interact with people I crush on.

  1. Sounds like dating apps are the right answer for your situation. Now that you’ve finished college, you won’t be meeting anyone new from there. An app will give you a whole new dating pool. It will also automatically tell anyone who matches with you that you’re looking to date them, not be their friend. You’re already comfortable with long distance online dating, now you can do it here but without the distance! Still get to know them through the app but also the perk of meeting them any time without having to drive or fly
