I just want a hug man, i know people can say kind stuff but I miss hugging with my best buds every time we met, or just casually teasing eachother with light punches or just anything. That kind of physical isolation just sucks I dunno…

  1. Don’t be afraid to seek this stuff out. There are ways of connecting with people beyond social hugs and the stuff you get from friends.

Join a workout class, or get a session or two from a trainer. Offer to pet-sit for someone. Do some local volunteering. Get a massage. Join a class that teaches you how to do something with your hands (pottery and gardening are both good ones). Its not always about physical affection– sometimes it is, but other times its just about kind support from someone, or getting back into your body and learning to feel again.

Its hard to ask for a hug from someone you aren’t close to, but I’ve found that those things sort of served the same purpose for me. Animals will always be available for hugs and cuddles. A good trainer or workout coach isn’t going to hug you, but they’re there to physically support you through a workout and give you verbal encouragement. Volunteering means becoming aware of someone else’s vulnerability, and leveraging your strength for their benefit (the gratitude they’ll express will probably warm you up). Being in tactile environments with other people really brings you back into your body, even if you are not in physical contact with them. Being isolated means you have to make more effort to get those simple needs met, but its a serious aspect of your mental health and worth the extra effort.

  2. Yes it really feels so good n secure to get hugged . I love it when anyone hugs me . It’s not physical intimacy but a feeling of love .
