If guy friend recently started sometimes placing his hand over mine or sometimes grabbing my hand playfully (when my hand is just resting on the table), is this still normal platonic behavior?

    Different people do different things. He might be into you or he might be a platonic fan of hands. Maybe you should ask him what he means by it.

    Typically an increase in casual touching indicates a desire for increased intimacy.

    But everyone is different. If its unwelcome have a conversation or start gently but firmly retrieving your hand to see if they get the message and reset their boundaries.
