What offense did you (or another girl you know) commit to get sent to a Catholic/private school?

  1. The people I knew who attended Catholic or private schools didn’t commit any offenses to be there. Many of their families paid quite handsomely to give them the privilege of attending those schools.

  2. This seems more like a trope in a tv show or movie than what usually happens in real life, outside of really religious people who send their gay kids to conversion schools or camps. I don’t see people sending their kids to catholic school as a punishment for anything they did wrong.

  3. I personally don’t know anyone who was sent to a Catholic school as punishment. I know someone who got expelled from her Catholic middle school for bringing vodka in a water bottle on a field trip.

  4. Being born into a Catholic family, lol. I went to Catholic school up through 4th grade. Then my family moved away and there was no Catholic school nearby, so I transferred to a public school.

It wasn’t all bad. Most of the teachers there were somewhat open minded. Quite a few of my schoolmates weren’t even Catholic but attended because their parents viewed it as a better/safer school. By the time I got to public school I was miles ahead in English, reading at a much higher level than my classmates. But I was somewhat behind in math and science.

But in the end it was kind of a waste of my parents money. My older brother and I both went and now we’re both atheist/agnostic.

  5. Was born in a catholic family.
Grew up & found out I’m gay.

Committed the crime after the punishment?
